Pam Griffin { Core 2 Teacher }

Born and raised in California, Mrs. Griffin moved to Longview with her husband, Charlie in 2006 to be closer to his family. After graduating from Shiloh Bible College, Mrs. Griffin was accepted into the Master's program for Teacher's Training at Bethany Bible College. Her first year of teaching Kindergarten in San Jose, CA., allowed her the experience of working with children both emotionally and academically challenged. She found she had a real heart for these children and wanted to be able to impact their lives in a positive way. She also taught Pre-K for one year at Sunshine Preschool in Sunnyvale, CA., and six years teaching Kindergarten and one year teaching First Grade at King's Valley Christian School in Concord, CA. Mrs. Griffin currently holds a Professional Administrator Credential for directors of childcare facilities in the state of Texas and is also in the process of working towards her Slingerland Certification to instruct dyslexic students.

In addition to her teaching experience, Mrs. Griffin has a genuine interest in visual arts, expressing her talents through drawing, crafts, unique gifts and home decorating. Mrs. Griffin has also owned a floral design business, Rose of Sharon Florist, providing yet another creative outlet to share her artistic gifts.

Class activities she will focus on during the school year will include teaching the children some of the fundamentals of art: line, shape, color, texture, and form. Craft projects, centered around the themes being taught by the Core teachers, have been carefully planned to reinforce classroom concepts.

Mrs. Griffin enjoys traveling and has traveled through 49 of our 50 wonderful states. One highlight of her travels was having the opportunity to spend three weeks in Hong Kong as part of a missionary outreach team. She also enjoys in gardening and watching birds. Mrs. Griffin is blessed with a lovely daughter, Chrissy, who after graduating from ASU, decided to reside in the Phoenix area.

"I feel it a privilege and blessing to be able to work with a team of teachers who are so professional, caring and committed to helping these precious children succeed. As the art teacher at Austen-Coley Academy, it is my desire for each child to display his/her uniqueness and creativity through the medium of art." Pam Griffin
